Since chatbot Cha GPT was made available to the general public at the end of November, the internet doesn’t seem to be speaking out on this subject. It is clear to many people that AI (artificial intelligence) can play a major role in the near future, but what exactly can we entrepreneurs use it for and how well does it actually work in practice? Chat GPT is a chatbot that can help companies automate and improve their customer service. In practice, however, the system appears to be capable of much more than answering customer questions.
Research lab Open AI made the ChatGPT prototype available to the general public at the end of November. In recent weeks, people have shared massively examples of projects they have set up with the tool. The result ranges from texts for social media posts and ideas for new businesses, to marketing plans and even entire websites, all of which were generated by the AI chatbot.

Back to basic
So with Chat GPT you can create a chatbot that is able to interact naturally with customers. This means that your customers can access help at any time of the day, without having to deploy staff. Such a smart chatbot can also be used to answer frequently asked questions and help customers find products or services that best suit their needs.
When I first read about this new chatbot, I was quite skeptical. After all, we all know the situations in which you are endlessly sent from pillar to post and can only long for contact with a human being of flesh and blood. In practice, however, the conversation with the chatbot already feels quite human. Tech billionaire Elon Musk himself called ChatGPT “frighteningly good.”
An advantage of Chat GPT is that it is able to learn quickly and adapt to the wishes and needs of your customers. For example, it is able to remember information from previous conversations and apply it later. This means that the chatbot is getting better at helping your customers, which can lead to better customer satisfaction.
(Much) more than customer service
That ChatGPT can be used for much more than customer service is proven by the many (successful) projects that are shared online. It can also be an excellent tool for marketing and sales purposes, for example. For example, ChatGPT can be used to generate leads by communicating with potential customers and asking about their needs and interests.
In addition, it can also help generate relevant and valuable content that meets the needs of your target audience. By communicating with people and asking about their needs and interests, the system knows exactly which content is worthwhile. Chat GPT can also be used to automate simple tasks such as making appointments or sending reminders. Reading application letters and making an initial selection of candidates are also now possible.
The downside of ChatGPT
Although many people are already very enthusiastic about the answers the system provides, it is definitely still in the research phase. During use it frequently crashes due to overload and the system simply has no information available about events from the last year. In addition, it can feel uncomfortable for many people to chat with a computer.
And although the chatbot politely apologizes if it has misunderstood you, sometimes the emotion is missing in its answers. An issue that still deserves the necessary attention is how you, as an entrepreneur, deal with the privacy of your customers. After all, it is yet another American tech giant that gains access to mostly personal information.
Should your employees fear for their jobs?
Artificial intelligence such as ChatGPT is going to offer entrepreneurs many benefits. Although it is still in development, it will soon be at a level where it can actually be applied. And in practice it seems plausible that it can take over many tasks in some fields. This does not mean that you will no longer need customer service representatives, or that recruiters and marketers should start polishing their resumes, but that their role will probably change in the coming years.
