Benefits of Independence Day
Independence Day is a time to celebrate our independence from the British Empire. It’s also a time to remember all the benefits of freedom. Here are five reasons to celebrate Independence Day:
Independence Day is a day to reflect on the many benefits of independence. Celebrating our independence from Great Britain in 1776 was a pivotal moment in history, and it has led to many positive developments in our society. Here are five reasons why celebrating Independence Day is important:
- Independence gives us the freedom to make our own decisions. Without independence, we would be subject to the will of others. We would not be able to freely express ourselves, vote, or choose our own leaders. Independence is a fundamental part of democracy.
- Independence allows us to build our own homes and businesses. We can create anything we want, as long as we have the resources and determination to do so. This freedom has led to tremendous economic growth over the years and helped countless families achieve their dreams.
- Independence allows us to live without fear of persecution or war. Countries that are independent don’t have to worry about other countries invading and taking over their territory, because they can defend themselves successfully on their own. This has allowed many civil rights movements to take root around the world, including the abolition of slavery and women’s suffrage rights.

The Fourth of July is a day to celebrate our country and all that it stands for. It is also a day to commemorate the adoption of the United States Constitution on July 4, 1776. One of the most important aspects of the Constitution is its protection of individual liberties. The Fourth of July is a day to celebrate those liberties by enjoying a night of celebration and fireworks. Gahanna celebrates these freedoms with a spectacular display over Lake Erie.
Gahanna’s fireworks display kicks off at 9:00 pm from the Gahanna Municipal Marina and spreads across the lake in a spectacular show reaching as far as Cleveland. This year’s event features more than 150 pieces including traditional firework displays like rockets and sparklers, as well as newer technologies such as “light-emitting diodes” or LEDs. This allows for an incredible variety of displays, from simple patterns like Stars and Stripes to more complex designs like spider webs and floral bouquets.
