Introduction
The Anna Cardwell family has a lot of history with Mama June, and now that she’s gained some fame as Honey Boo Boo’s mother, it seems like they’ve decided not to make any more attempts at communication.
Anna Marie Cardwell recently said she’d be willing to forgive Mama June if she apologized for her grave sins against her family name. So what brought about this newfound distance between the two women? Is there bad blood between them or something else altogether? Let’s take a look!
Anna Marie Cardwell has an excellent reason for being one of the few Honey Boo Boo family members who refuse to engage with Mama June on social media.

“It’s hard because I don’t want her to think that I’m not going to support her or whatever, but it’s not my place,” Cardwell said in an interview with TMZ. “It doesn’t feel right.”
Cardwell says she doesn’t know how much money Mama June earns from her reality show and says she hasn’t spoken to her since she left TLC back in 2015.
If anyone’s got a right to be furious with the former Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star, it’s Anna.
If anyone’s got a right to be furious with the former Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star, it’s Anna.
She has no desire to interact with Mama June anymore. After all, she was there when Anna was bullied at school. She didn’t do anything about it—and now that Mama June is in jail for child neglect charges (which many people believe are entirely unfounded), Anna feels betrayed by her mother-in-law: “I’m trying my best not to hate her,” Anna says. “But I know that if I did hate her, then maybe we would have some money.”
For those who were fans of the show but missed part of the plot, here’s a quick recap:
This is a quick recap of what happened in the first season of The Americans.
- It’s 1984, and Elizabeth Jennings (Keri Russell) and Philip Jennings (Matthew Rhys) are KGB spies living in Washington, D.C., posing as an American married couple. They have two children: Paige (Holly Taylor) and Henry (Keidrich Sellati).
- While on assignment, they pretend to be ordinary everyday people; however, they can’t hide their true identities from one another or their co-workers at the FBI office where Philip works as an FBI agent undercover as “Clark.” Anna Cardwell.
After seven years of blissful ignorance, Anna clarified that she was the top-secret victim within days of TMZ’s bombshell report.
In the weeks since TMZ’s bombshell report, Anna has been the first to break her silence on the matter. She was not aware of the abuse until that moment, but she did confirm that she was indeed being molested by Bill Cosby and said she felt betrayed by his behavior.
She also revealed that her father had known about what happened between Bill Cosby and her for years—but because he was never asked about it before now (and only asked once), he wasn’t able to give any details about what happened between them before or after their relationship ended in 1987.
In any event, it doesn’t seem as though Mama June plans to apologize, so it’s probably that Anna is done trying to reach out for the best.

Many people have accused the reality star on social media of being a wrong person and should be ashamed of what she has done.
The card wells have no desire to interact with mama June anymore.
The Cardwells have no desire to interact with Mama June anymore. Even though she is the mother of their children, they do not want anything to do with her or her behavior. She doesn’t seem to be interested in apologizing for her actions, nor does she seem willing or able to change how she acts around them.
Mama June has also shown no signs of being willing or able to take accountability for anything that has happened over the years, including but not limited to slandering other people’s reputations by saying things about them that aren’t true;
lying about what happened between herself and one member of the family when it was revealed those two were sleeping together; claiming bankruptcy despite having plenty of money from endorsements deals; cheating on one partner with another partner who isn’t even related by blood (but whom he dated while still married);
trying unsuccessfully time after time again because every time something goes wrong between them they end up fighting harder than ever before which leads us here today where both sides are now estranged at best but most likely utterly estranged considering how far away both parties live currently reside!
Conclusion
Anna Cardwell has every right to be angry with Mama June, but she’s also got a lot of reasons to keep the peace. She doesn’t owe anything to the woman who abandoned her mother at a young age and never offered an explanation for her absence.
Given that Anna has already suffered enough in life without having to talk about it again on national television – let alone face questions about what might have been happening behind closed doors – I think it’s best if she leaves it alone.
